Fundraising at the Mullum Music Festival

Sanctuary volunteers set up a stall and sang songs of freedom on the busking stage while enjoying the vibe of the Mullum Music Festival. We sold Xmas hamper raffle tickets, collected donations and generally raised Sanctuary’s profile in the Byron Shire and beyond.  We raised over $600 in donations.

Congratulations to Tressa Kennedy who coordinated the event in such a professional and calm manner.

Thanks also to Jean-Claude, Djuma, James, and Anuarite for travelling from Lismore to perform, Megan Dowse from Operation Uganda with her African Jewellery, volunteers Tondi, Simone, Cherie, Rosslyn, Tash, Steve, Jo and Katherine.  Special thanks to the performers Oka, Djan Djan, Rebecca Ireland, The Blue Hulas and M Jack B for saying the word & passing the donation buckets around in your gigs!
A huge Thanks goes to festival organiser Glen from Vitamin Records!

Homework tutoring:

assisting with homework tutoring after school

Driving:

assisting with the driver training and experience program

Administration:

helping with photocopying & filing, mailouts, grant writing

Can you spare an hour or two each week to support high school kids in their efforts?  They are an enthusiastic bunch - a very rewarding task.

The Settlement sub-committee is people orientated, helping new arrivals begin a new life.
The Communication sub-committee is about media, newsletters and promotion.
The Volunteer sub-committee looks after our volunteers and creates opportunities to contribute.
The Membership sub-committee creates, increases and maintains Sanctuary's community.
The Fund Raising sub-committee raises valuable funds for Sanctuary's work with refugees.
